The Cinema

Going to the cinema is definitely a sweet past time. I’m a huge fan. The only thing I’m not a fan of? Half the stuff that happens while you’re trying to watch the film. After going to the cinema today I made a mental list of all the things that really wound me up and let me tell you, there was a few.

  • Prices

I will never understand what person came up with the hefty price tags on everything in a cinema. They must have had pretty huge pockets.

  • Staff

They never quite get it right. You will either get a monotone amoeba who doesn’t have a clue what they’re doing, for example, the man who sorted out my tickets. Firstly he counted out four tickets, when we actually had five. He then went off to get 3D glasses and of course came back with 3. There was still five of us. At the other end of the spectrum, there is the over enthusiastic employee. The one who feels the need to give you a five minute review of the film you’re about see and doesn’t seem to give a shit about spoilers.

  • Children

Call me Victorian but sometimes children should just be seen and not heard. In fact, it’s better if sometimes they’re not even seen. I had to endure an entire film in front of a toddler and a baby. It was not enjoyable. Not only was the kicking the back of my chair a little annoying (although at points it was slightly rhythmic and I started humming songs in my head) the constant plot checks with the mother was irritating. However this meant I never had to worry about losing the storyline.

I promise that at some point I will do a positive post. Soon. Ish.
